Instructions on Adjusting Teaching Methods in the First Semester of 110 Academic Year in Accordance with Anti-epidemic Regulations
Greetings, teachers and students:
On November 1, 2021, the Ministry of Education sent a letter to amend the “ Guidelines for the Management of Epidemic Prevention in 110 School Year of Colleges and Universities in Response to COVID-19 ” by removing the restriction on the number of students in the room if adequately social distanced or with a partition board. See the following.
Ⅰ. Applicable since November 2, 2021
Ⅱ. Guiding principles for pandemic prevention (red indicates newly added)
1. Physical classroom
(The regulated number of students in the room has been lifted)
(1) Fixed seats with fixed members; identity check and record is required (could be online or in paper); if fixed seats are not possible, please take a picture at each session for subsequent epidemiological investigation.
(2) Teachers do not have to wear a mask in class if they can maintain a social distance or have appropriate barrier devices (e.g., partitions), but please put a mask back on “before” and “after” the class.
(3) Students should wear a mask throughout the class and have their hands disinfected.
(4) Classrooms should be well ventilated (doors may be closed if air conditioning is on, but one window should be opened at each corner of the classroom, with each window open at least 15 centimeters) and disinfected regularly, and any equipment and machinery operated in class should be properly disinfected.
2. Physical Education, Swimming, Lab/Practicum, Performing Arts Classes
(1) Physical Education: A mask should be worn throughout lecture sessions in the classroom in physical education; during sports, however, a mask is not necessary if there are no respiratory symptoms and if a social distance can be maintained with campus visitors. Teachers and students should carry masks with them and should wear them before or after exercise. Equipment should not be shared, and yet, if unavoidable, should be cleaned and disinfected before rotation. Sports facilities should implement identity check and leave a record and disinfect the environment and equipment. (The number of students allowed to stay in the gymnasium will be abolished)
(2) Swimming class: Implement identity check and leave a record, measure body temperature, disinfect the environment and facilities, maintain air circulation, closely monitor the residual chlorine level of water quality, and wear masks throughout the course except when swimming and using specific facilities. Wear masks throughout the curse. (Eliminate the requirements for admission and maintenance of social distance, etc.)
(3) Laboratory/Practicum Classes: Students should be divided into fixed groups and avoid sharing equipment and devices; if there is a need to rotate the use of equipment or devices, they should be disinfected before the rotation.
(4) Performing Arts Classes: Except for singing, dancing, or wind instruments, masks must be worn throughout the class. The mask may be removed temporarily when singing, dancing, or playing, but should be carried with the student. If the student has respiratory symptoms and is unable to maintain a social distance from non-school personnel, the mask should be worn. The use of personal equipment is the rule. Wind instruments (mouthpieces, etc.) should be used exclusively for wind instruments and should not be shared; microphones used for drama are for personal use only.
